Losing teeth as a kid is a major right of passage. Every time you pull a kid’s tooth is a tangible milestone they are officially becoming big kids. And while each lost tooth is a joyous occasion kids feel compelled to celebrate, the process is a fraught with ups and downs. It’s exciting. It’s scary. It’s painful. Then, it’s a relief. When it finally comes out, friends and classmates gaze jealously at the gaping hole.
But, is there a best way to pull a tooth? As a kid, I avoided the more dramatic techniques of using doors, strings, and pliers. I just used my fingers and maybe a paper towel for extra grip to rip out my loose teeth. These days there are a million new ways to speed up the process. Here are 6 of best and worst ways I’ve seen. The girl with the compound bow may be my favorite.
