4 More Backyard Kid's Games Ideas

As COVID-19 drags on and your indoor and outdoor activities continue to be limited, you’ve probably heard your fair share of “I’m bored” this summer. (And there’s still a good chunk of summer to go!)

That’s why we thought you could use even more backyard ideas to keep kids active and having fun. These outdoor kid’s games are simple and exciting, and they don’t require a lot of prep work. (As an added bonus, they’re about as easily packable as they come, so they’re great on camping trips.)

Backyard Battleship

outdoor battleship kid's game Everyone’s played Cornhole before. It’s a classic backyard game for kids and adults — and for good reason. It’s fun! But have you ever tried to combine Battleship with Cornhole before? Simply cut out these battleships, place them in the grass around your backyard (or on your camping trip) and try to land bean bags on each one for points. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, try putting them on your Cornhole set as a way to earn extra points.

Targeted Dodgeball For Kids

This is an exciting twist on everyone’s favorite gym class game. Cut out these red and green targets and tape them onto your clothes. Anyone who hits a red target automatically loses. However, those who hit the green targets can score extra points. (You’ll have to depend on the honor system a lot to make sure people are honest if they’ve been hit, but it still makes for a fun outdoor kid’s game.)

Pin the Face on the Tree Outdoor Game

What kid doesn’t love the classic Pin the Tail on the Donkey game at birthday parties? You eat some cake, blindfold yourself and then try to pin the tail on the donkey. Take the game outdoors with this Pin the Face on the Tree outdoor game. There are plenty of goofy eyes, noses and mouths to choose from.

Outdoor Bottle Cap Curling

This variation on the classic Olympic sport curling that was very popular a couple years ago works best on a patio or picnic table in your back yard or at a campsite. Cut out the goals and try to flick bottle caps into your opponent’s goal to score points.

There’s no shortage of fun things to do outside. Download these outdoor kid’s games and picnic games for the little ones, provided by the team at Wikibuy.
