“Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.” Good ‘ol John Muir had some beautiful words to say about the getting outside. It’s undeniable that there is a connection to be made with something larger than ourselves in the outdoors. When every day you’re bombarded by people-made things; cars, roads, buildings, manufactured parks, offices, technology, even your own home; it’s easy to forget that we’re actually part of nature. It’s easy to forget that the whole planet is nature, and we just lay a thin film of man-made stuff on top of it. A good trail run on some dirt is often all it takes to wash away that film to see the world around us more clearly. And yes, that’s a duck between my knees.
